Underwear for Men Gives Booty More Bounce

For the many men who suffer from severe "flat butt," here's some uplifting news: One line of padded underwear specifically for guys is meant to give the illusion of a little more junk in the trunk.

Are you sitting down? Good.

The padded underpants in the spotlight are manufactured by a Canadian company appropriately dubbed BottomsUp, which operates under the motto: "Building a Better Bottom."

The company offers all kinds of shape-enhancing undergarments for both women and men but places a special emphasis on the male derriere, which, frankly, could use a little help.

Canadian company BottomsUp offers a line of padded underwear for men that gives the illusion of a rounder, fuller butt.

BottomsUp owner Rick Mucha told AOL News that he's been selling the line of padded boxer briefs for men for about 10 years.

The underwear have built-in pockets in the butt area designed to hold special BottomsUp butt pads, which come in three gradually expanding sizes: "Quarterback," "Halfback" and "Fullback."

The garments, which are priced at $39.99 per pair, also boast a pouch in the crotch area in case men want to slip a separate pad in the front for added girth.

However, Mucha said the butt pads are the biggest area of interest for customers who are mainly looking to add a bit of extra bounce to their booty.

"First-time customers usually go with the 'Quarterback' size, just to give it a try. Once they get comfortable and are satisfied with the product, they gradually go up in size to 'Halfback' and 'Fullback.' The padding looks really natural. It's an easy, inexpensive way for guys to be able to fill out their jeans better," Mucha said.

Mucha said the butt pads are "anatomically correct" because they were, after all, inspired by real-life butts.

He said his team of researchers hit the streets to scope out "the best-looking butts." They used the most inspiring behinds to make molds, and the pads evolved from there.

Additionally, Mucha said the padded briefs look discreet and totally natural underneath clothing because they're each outfitted with a special feature that keeps them perfectly in place.

He said each pair has a "defining center back seam" running down the butt-crack region, which helps keep the pads separated, just like natural butt cheeks.

Everything combined is meant to help customers achieve the shape they desire discreetly, without anyone having to know they're packing pads back there.

BottomsUp also sells padded panties for women in need of more junk in the trunk.

But while BottomsUp garments may not be very noticeable, Mucha said the change of attitude in those who wear them sure is.

He said he's received tons of uplifting feedback over the years from men who said the padded underwear gave them a huge boost of confidence and made them "feel better about themselves."

From the start, that sort of relief was Mucha's main mission, much more so than the aesthetic benefits.

"I designed the first pair in 2001 to help a friend of mine who had AIDS. His muscle structure was all messed up and he was really uncomfortable sitting, so I tried to create something to ease that," he explained.

As a result of the cushy quality, Mucha said his product has continued to be popular within the AIDS community, as well as with war veterans suffering from muscular injuries and physical complications in the buttocks area that makes it difficult for them to sit down.

"We've worked with doctors who deal with veterans who have had a loss of mass due to war injuries. We've made custom pairs for vets and elders who need one side bigger or smaller than the other. People who've lost a lot of weight due to cancer or other illnesses have also used the garments to even everything out. They're not just for looks."

Another big target audience for Mucha are frequent fliers.

Because they find themselves sitting for extended periods of time on airplanes, Mucha said frequent travelers find extra comfort in the padding.

The garments have also proved to be popular among those with desk jobs and among sports fans looking for a little extra cushion to sit on at the stadium.

As for the ladies, Mucha hasn't forgotten about you.

He also offers a line of padded panties for women but, let's face it, we gals have plenty of butt-enhancing products out there to choose from.
